This daughter, my grandmother, Caroline (Lina) KACHELHOFER married Joseph HALBERG  11 Nov, 1874. Following the death of her husQueries with surname of Kband in 1880  she married Ernst (Earnest, Ernest) WINTTER 21 Aug, 1881.  They relocated to Wheeling, Jefferson Co. AL  and then to Brighton, Jefferson Co., AL. Fredric Arnold Albrecht KACHELHOFER  moved to Lipscomb, Jefferson Co., AL where they lived until his death 3 Nov, 1892.  His spouse Rosalie Grunder died on 23 Dec, 1901.  Both are buried at Brighton Cemetery, Brighton, Jefferson Co. AL. I am particularly interested in locating th ship(s) and port(s) that Frederic A. A. KACHELHOFER and his spouse and family made their entry into the U.S. and where they traveled from to arrive in Lauderdale Co. William Kilgore was in the 1910 United State Federal Census.  Home in 1910 — 16 WD — Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama Series T624 Roll 20 Part 144B Birth Nov 8, 1834 Born Tenn.  Image 18 Ed # 103.  William Kilgore also was a Confederate Soldier in the  Civil War under Cap. KING, Thomas – Hello I am trying to locate the time of death of my Great GrandParent.  THOMAS   KING was born 1862 in Dolomite, Alabama, and died Unknown in Dolomite, Alabama. He married GEORGIANNA NELSON Jan 28, 1885 in Jonesboro,Alabama. She was born 1864 in Dolomite, Alabama, and died Unknown in Dolomite, Alabama.  Notes for THOMAS KING: I found the following in the Probate Office, Jefferson County, Birmingham, Al.:  * Black marriages, Volume 1, page 533.  “THOMAS KING married GEORGIA NELSON at Jonesboro on 29 January 1885. Married by Arthur Hall, m.g. License was issued on 28 January 1885. Thomas is over 21, Georgia is over 18. Both reside in Jefferson County.”  Note: No fixed age was given for either party. It is said that Thomas King is a Mason.  And that he Started the Mason’s in Fairfield Alabama. KNOX, Mary Dibert – Seeking information about Mary Dibert Knox (b 1867 in Kans) who married a Melton (of SCar) and lived in Birmingham, Jefferson, Ala in 1930 with her daughter Florence Melton who married a Sawls.   Florence “Sawls” is a widow in the 1930 census with two children Mary and William.  Florence Melton Sawls died in 1953 and is buried in the Oakland cemetery (according to the Angwin Funeral Home records on-line at your site).  Her husband (whoever he is) is not listed for the Oakland cemetery.  I would like to find out more about Florence, who her husband was (he was b in Ala), who her children married, and about her mother Mary Knox Melton.  Did she also die in Ala?  Contact information:  Mary Nemann  3/26/2003   nemann@sover.net
