BOYD, Luther –  Could someone help me get the actually date of luther Boyd’s death.  Luther is my great grandfather, his son samuel is my grandfather. I didn’t know either of these men. My dad who is a samuel Boyd also and last saw Samuel Zach Boyd his father in the year 1958. Samuel Zach boyd died in 1972 and is buried in Tuscaloosa.  All I have on Luther Boyd (my great grandfather) appears on my Grandfather Samuel Zach Boyd’s Veteran Burial Allowance and certificate of death from Alabama.  Luther Boyd is his father and Bell Ellen Hill Boyd Sharrett is the mother.  Luther was dead already when his son died (assumed because no address provided for Luther only mother has an address and provided signature on his VBA) but his mother Ellen Sharrett was alive in 1972 and living in Arab, Al according to VBA.  According to Samuel’s Zach Boyd’s VBA and death certificate his family marked him as never married.  This information is INCORRECT he married my grandmother in Massachusetts and eventually they divorced.  My grandfather was in the airforce and stationed in MASS and this is how they met.  I’m not sure why the paperwork was marked ‘never married’ considering that my grandparents along with my dad had lived with those who signed the death certificate.  Luther’s son Samuel Zach Boyd had brothers, George and Eugene Boyd (older) and JC Boyd (younger)… Per my grandmother George and Eugene both had twin boys and were/are married.  Thank you.  Please contact Sheila Ann Wright at littledoeboyd@yahoo.com    [posted January 23, 2009]

Samuel Zach Boyd’s brothers are 2 male twins (names unknown), George, Eugene and JC.  Irene and Samuel had a son who lived at the home in Bessemer by the name of Samuel E. Boyd and he’s my dad.  I really would like to find someone remaining from my grandfather’s family if possible and any family history.  Please contact Sheila Wright at shylaannsweet@aol.com  [posted September 28, 2007]
